Covering 111 hectares (275 acres), Kensington Gardens is planted with formal avenues of magnificent trees and ornamental flower beds. It is a perfect setting for Kensington Palace, peaceful Italian Gardens, the Albert Memorial, Peter Pan statue and the Serpentine Gallery.

The Diana, Princess of Wales' Memorial Playground is where kids will love to play, explore, dash about, and let their imaginations soar, all set against a lush backdrop of trees and plants. There's plenty of seating so the grownups can

relax too.

The Albert Memorial was commissioned by Queen Victoria in memory of her beloved husband, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha who died of typhoid in 1861, and designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott in the Gothic revival style.

The Gardens are particularly popular for sunbathing and picnics in fine weather.
