The National Gallery, located on the north side of Trafalgar Square, houses one of the greatest collections of Western European painting in the world. These pictures belong to the public and entrance to see them is free and is a 'must' for any art-loving visitor to London. The Gallery displays western paintings from about 1260-1900 and includes works by Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Gainsborough and Van Gogh. Every day, there are free talks and tours for visitors. Debates, discusión groups, short courses and study days offer the |
chance to engage with and explore National Gallery paintings in more depth. If you're feeling creative, there are practical sessions ranging from free lunch-time 'Talk and Draw' activities to one-day life-drawing, print-making, sculpture, movement and writing workshops. Or come and have a drink, relax and meet other people at one of our informal evening events or brunches.
