Since opening in 1871 the Royal Albert Hall has occupied a central position in the cultural life of the nation. Largely built with funds subscribed by private individuals and operating under a Royal Charter, the Hall has fulfilled this role for over a century without public funding. This incredibly versatile event space hosts over 330 events every year and is celebrated for its legendary performances. Tours usually run from 10am with the last tour at 3.30pm, Friday to Tuesday inclusive. Tours depart from inside the porch at Door 12 and last for around 45 minutes. All tours are conducted in English.
