Visitors to Somerset House will discover the beautifully restored interiors and spectacular outdoor spaces that make this the jewel in the heart of the capital. It is is home to three magnificent collections of works of art.

Gilbert Collection; Over 800 superb works of European gold, silver and decorative arts. Hermitage Rooms; Exhibitions of works of art from one of the world's leading collections. Courtauld Institute of Art Gallery; A magnificent collection of Impressionist and Post Impressionist masterpieces.

The Old Palace exhibition tells the story of the original 16th century palace, from when it was first built until it was demolished to make way for the present building.

Every August, Film4 Summer Screen transforms the courtyard into a full-scale open-air cinema while Summer Series has featured spectacular gigs by Goldfrapp, PJ Harvey and Lambchop.
